Juan Carlos Riveiro President & CEO

Juan Carlos co-founded Gigle in September 2005, and is an acknowledged industry expert and pioneer in the field of powerline communications. Prior to Gigle, Juan Carlos was CTO and R&D Co-director of DS2, where he managed the R&D team. Juan Carlos joined the DS2 organization in November 1998 and led the creation of DS2’s 45Mbps product generation and 200Mbps product generations.

Previously Juan Carlos has held a development role at R&D Ladel and undertaken a research project at UPC Digital Communication Group. Juan Carlos is a vocal advocate of the creation and implementation of industry standards and is a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Jed Hurwitz

Jed Hurwitz CTO

Jed co-founded Gigle in September 2005 and serves as CTO. Prior to Gigle Jed co-formed ST Microelectronics mobile imaging business group, and led the specification and development of mobile camera modules which have shipped in high volume and delivered significant revenues. Jed also led the creation of an open mobile industry camera standard, SMIA. Jed became a leading figure in the imaging community and is an active member of IEEE, where he serves on the ISSCC technical committee.

Previously Jed has held principal technology roles in Vision Group, Matra MHS and PSL, always in the area of mass market consumer mixed-signal CMOS ICs.

Tom Foster

Tom Foster VP Sales

Tom joined Gigle in February 2009 to build and manage the worldwide sales team including a network of independent sales representatives and distributors. Previously Tom was vice president of sales at DisplayLink where he gained key customers at top tier display and PC OEM’s. Prior to that he was vice president of worldwide sales for Atheros Communications, Inc., where he was instrumental in leading the company to a successful IPO. Tom and his team increased the company’s revenue to over $200 million per year with a customer base to include all major U.S. and Japanese retail, PC-OEM, enterprise and consumer electronics firms. Before Atheros, Tom was vice president of Asia sales for Virata, where he helped drive a successful IPO. Tom's held executive management positions at Hyundai Electronics America, Compression Labs and IBM/ROLM. He earned a B.S. degree in business management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.

Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson VP Corporate Business Development

Michael co-founded Gigle in September 2005 and is responsible for corporate business development. Michael has over 20 years experience of marketing and technical management. Prior to Gigle Michael was COO of Infinite Data Storage, where he established product supply relationships with several top tier consumer electronics companies. Previously Michael co-formed and led the mobile imaging business group at ST Microelectronics and established ST as a leading supplier of cameras for mobile phones.

Michael has held business and technical management roles in Vision Group and Wolfson Microelectronics and holds an MSc in Electronics, and an MBA from Edinburgh Management School.

Toby Baily

Toby Bailey VP Engineering

Toby joined Gigle in 2006, and serves as the vice president of engineering.
Before Gigle, Toby was manager of the imager design group at ST Microelectronics, where he was responsible for developing very high volume mixed-signal products for the most demanding consumer applications. Toby had developed a reputation for first pass success in his roles at ST Microelectronics as the project and technical manager for camera developments for mobile phones covering ASIC and optical module development and industrialisation.

Toby has earned an MSc in Electronics from The University of Edinburgh , and a P.Dip, in Management from the Open University.

Håkan Fouren

Håkan Fouren VP Product Engineering

Håkan co-founded Gigle in September 2005 and is responsible for product engineering. Håkan has 20 years experience in semiconductor product development, operations and marketing. Prior to Gigle, Håkan was responsible for strategic marketing, customer applications and back-end engineering at DS2. Previously Håkan was ASIC design lead at Hewlett Packard’s large format printer division, ran TEMIC’s ASIC design centres in Santa Clara and Sweden, and held project management and ASSP development roles at Matra-MHS in Sweden and France.

In his career to date Håkan has participated in over 100 working ICs. Håkan holds a BSc in Electronics from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.

John Gloekler

John Gloekler VP Operations

John joined Gigle in August 2009, and serves as vice president of operations. John previously was CEO of G2 Microsystems, where he built the company into the market-share leader in real-time location system (RTLS) integrated circuits and helped drive development and production of the world’s lowest-power WiFi device. Prior experience includes eight years at Ernst & Young LLP where he rose to a partnership position and leader in the supply chain practice, consulting on supply chain strategy with top clients including IBM, Apple, HP, Seagate, Cisco and Microsoft. John also held positions as Vice President of Manufacturing for Austek Microsystems and engineering roles at National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.

John holds two patents, and earned his Master of Science and Management degree from Stanford University, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

Andy Melder

Andy Melder VP Business Development

Andy joined Gigle in November 2009 and serves as the vice president of business development. Andy has more than 25 years of experience working with semiconductor leaders in fast-growing consumer broadband communications markets. He helped three companies achieve successful financial exits over the past 10 years, either as a founder or member of the executive leadership team. Prior to joining Gigle, Melder held senior sales, marketing and strategic business development positions at Intellon, leading up to the company's 2007 initial public offering and its recent acquisition by Atheros Communications. Prior to that, Melder co-founded Microtune, Inc., where he was vice president of sales and marketing and, later, vice president of business development. He came to Microtune from Tripath Technologies, where he was vice president of sales, marketing and corporate business development, and a member of the leadership team that executed the company's successful public offering. Melder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University.
